Food is ideal for experimenting with changes in matter. Demonstrate how a solid can magically dissolve into a liquid with cotton candy! Drop cotton candy into water and watch it magically disappear. Try different temperatures of water. Make a prediction and a hypothesis about the temperature of your liquid and your candy floss. Have kids draw and label the components of the experiment in their science notebook. Is dissolving cotton candy a physical or chemical change? - Physical
